AI Visual Storytelling

Overview:

To help employees better understand and connect with Adams County's wellness benefits, I developed a visual storyboard that follows a fictional employee, Alex Ramirez, on his transformative health journey. The goal was to humanize the wellness program and show its long-term value through storytelling and relatable visuals.

My Role:

02 — Discovery & Planning

Collaborated with stakeholders in the HR and Benefits department to understand program goals, target audience, and key messaging priorities. We identified the need for an engaging and empathetic narrative that would appeal to both new and current employees.

03 — Character Development

Created a fictional yet relatable central character, Alex Ramirez—a friendly, mixed-race, middle-aged man starting his wellness journey. His design evolved to reflect changes in health, energy, and confidence throughout the storyboard.

05 — Visual Direction

Directed image generation using AI illustration tools to maintain consistency in character appearance, mood, and style across scenes. Collaborated iteratively to adjust body type, skin tone, environment realism, and visual tone.

04 — Storyboard Scripting

Wrote an 14-frame storyboard script mapping Alex’s arc from onboarding to recovery and reintegration after an injury. Each scene highlights specific wellness benefits (e.g., fitness, counseling, return-to-work planning), grounded in real employee support services.

06 — Outcome

The final storyboard was used to visually communicate the breadth of Adams County’s wellness resources in a compelling, personal way—encouraging engagement, empathy, and program participation among staff.
